Welcome to my blog. My blog is mainly for the sharing of the many projects I make either for swaps, for gifts or just because I was inspired by something I saw on the internet and wanted to give it a try as well. I hope you enjoy what you see and if you have any questions be sure to send me a comment.

Papermache Coffin

Using Graphic 45's Haunted
Halloween paper collection
on a 7-1/2" x 4" papermache
coffin.  I bought the set of 3
a few years ago and decided
to take one with me to
scrapbooking night at my
favorite craft store last night.
I'm really having fun creating
the tattered flowers.

Stamper's Sampler Challenge

This is a project I submitted to Stampington's Somerset Studios magazine.  If it's accepted it will publish in one of next year's issues.  The challenge was to take and create something with the purfume bottle pattern.  I made this vinatge scrapbook page featuring a photo of my Grandmother with me as a baby and one of my Grandmother and my Mother.  I then created some bookmarks and submitted them as well.  It's been a while since I submitted anything, but I'm hoping at least one of these is chosen.

Microscopic Slide Mailer

This microscopic slide mailer was made for a swap on the AFTCM Yahoo group.  The theme was a splash of blue and orange. I ignored the "splash" part becasue I didn't feel like doing something water related.  I also finally got around to learning how to make flowers using the Tim Holtz tattered flower die.  Looked at a few YouTube videos to get the hang of it.  They aren't perfect but I am pleased with the overall look.

Graphic 45 Blog Challenge

G45 has a Summertime Challenge on their blog this month.  This is the page I created for it.  When I saw the dandilions in the yard I knew that is what I wanted to do a page layout of.  So I took my 3 year old grandson out to the yard and shot photos of him playing with the dandilions.  I used papers and embellishments from the Olde Curriosity Shoppe paper line.  Once it was done I thought of other things I should have done, but don't have the time to redo it. I am entering it in the Western Washington State Fair, in the Hobby Hall Paper Crafting section.  So I have to deliver it tomorrow, the 25th.

Easel Card

Made this easel card
for a swap on
Artforthecreativemind
Yahoo group. Part of the
project was to use an
embossing method. I chose
the heated embossing powder
method. I don't work with
pinks very often, but I am
pleased with how this
turned out. The theme was
butterflies and dragonflies.

Retro Cafe & Graphic 45

The card features more of Retro Cafe's Halloween collage sheet images; the moon, bird and chracters sitting on the moon. Attached to papers from G45's Happy Haunting paper collection.  The little chipboard container is covered with a sheet of paper from G45's Olde Curriosity Shoppe paper collection and is finished off with a drawer knob from 7 Gypsies.

Stamp club projects.

I have belonged to a local stamp club for about 18 years and we meet monthly for socializing and a demo.  The demos are presented by club members. For July Rosalee walked us through making these cute bird houses.  I've made them years ago, but it was fun to do them again and being reminded that they would make adorable table decorations for tea and springtime parties. In August Rosalee again presented the demo and we made these adorable tea bag holders.  She did all the pre-cutting for us and it took us less than an hour to assemble them.

Tag projects.

Both tags were for All Things Tim Yahoo group swaps. The Halloween one came together pretty fast.  I love how my spider web turned out.  It was also the first time I used the sequin waste material on a project (little white spots) and loved the results.  The Monochrome Dress Form was a real challenge.  The colors are pretty indicative of a lot of the projects I make, but I really wanted to do something different, like blues. When I sat down to start the project.. it was weird, it just seemed like going through all my stuff looking for blues was more work than I wanted to put effort into. But I am pleased with how it turned out.

Recent ATC projects I've completed.

These ATCs were for some online projects. My "Winged Witch" was for Retro Cafe Art Garllery's collage sheet challenge. They provided a digital collage sheet for us to print out, Then we could create up to 3 projects to post on their Facebook page.  At the end of the month there is a drawing for a gift cetificate for digital collage sheets. The "steampunk piano" was for a music swap on Artisttradingcards yahoo group.  And the bottom 2 ATCs were for an Artforthecreativemind yahoo group "rain with a resist technique" exchange.  My resist technique was using clear embossing powder on the lightening strike in the clouds and for the white embossing powder on the flower.

12 Tags of 2012 August

Here is my August ATC
for the 12 Tags of 2012
Tim Holtz project. He did
a lot of stuff on his tag.
So it was a challenge to
make it work for an ATC
sized card.

My Grandsons

Current photos of my 6 grandsons.  Easton lives in Alaska and the other 5 live locally.
