Welcome to my blog. My blog is mainly for the sharing of the many projects I make either for swaps, for gifts or just because I was inspired by something I saw on the internet and wanted to give it a try as well. I hope you enjoy what you see and if you have any questions be sure to send me a comment.

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2012 for October...

Here is my ATC (tag) for October.
I am not a glitter person so I don't
own much of it. I ended up just using
clear stickles on graunge paper alpha
letters that I painted black.  And I
don't have any of the daubber paints
he used either for the more vibrant
color background either.. but I like it
and it look goods in the ATC tray
along side the others.

Acck! Tag Book Mania

Oh my goodness!  Once I get an idea in my head I sometimes go a little nuts.  I have done a few tag swaps over the past year and have this small box of tags just sitting on the work table.  So.. I finally got around to doing something with them.  I created little Tag Swap Books for the individual swaps.  Top left is for a swap called "Famous Movie Lines" which I hosted on the All Things Tim (ATT) Yahoo Group.  The other 3 books are also from swaps on the ATT Group. Top right was a Steampunk theme, lower left was a Monochromatic Dress From and finally a Patriotic themed book. I intend to go back and do something with the pocket fronts, a little decorating and with tags of the name of the artist who created the tag in the pocket.

Altered Thread Spools

The theme for this swap is a sparkly holiday for the AFTCM group.  I made these using scraps from G45's Nutcracker Sweet Christmas paper.  I couldn't get any of the photos I took to show the sparkly parts. But on the Sugarplum Fairy her wings, the scroll work on the front of her tutu and dots on the top flower have clear stickles on them.  The Land of Sugar Sweets has a clear gel pen outlining all the swirls and candies on the background paper and the flowers.  On the Nutcracker the flowers have the gel pen dots and I used red bling around the base of the nutcracker border. The Nutcracker himself is dimensional with black pop dots so it allowed his feet to reset against the bottom.  I love how these turned out.  When searching the internet I saw ones made into ornaments, have photos rolled up around them and other cute ideas.  On Bing I just searched for altered thread spools to find ideas.

"Pseudo" telescoping cards.

Found an old pattern for a card top I learned years ago.  I thought it would work for a different take on a "telescoping card" for a swap on the  Art for the Creative Mind yahoo group.  I went right to work making the Asian themed one.  Once I was done I went to mark it as a completed project only to discover there was a specific theme.. Spooky and Scary... Hmm.  I seem to do this quite often lately.  So went back down to the art room and created the Halloween version.  Isn't really scary...or spooky... but it came out cute. The reason I'm calling them "Pseudo" is because it's technically a Lantern Card pattern, but I think when you lift the tab it does kind of "telescope" up.
